A lot of people, probably every person ever, believes at some time in their life that they have a "great" idea. Entrepreneurs all over the world believe they've found the 1 idea that's gonna make them rich.
They're all wrong.
Ideas don't make you rich any more than wheat flour makes you bread.
I'm going to say something here that everyone knows. No one has ever made bread by buying wheat flour. No one has ever made great bread, for that matter, by buying wheat flour. The same is true of creating anything, including marketing and advertising.
Here's why you're here, reading about bread right now. You know, like I knew, that if you can learn from someone who's already got the "secret sauce," the know how, the how to, the... whatever the hell it is that makes marketing and advertising seem like a magic money machine... if you could learn that, you'd be set for life.
You'd sail into the sunset. Buy a house in the mountains. Marry a french model. Have a soccer team sized family and live in paradise forever and ever... me too pal, me too.
Two words you should know before you get any crazy ideas of making a home run ad and getting rich quick:
AD FATIGUE
That's what happens after people have seen your advertisement too many times, it stops making you money. It's a damn shame. There's no elevator to success, you're going to have to take the stairs.
